  • April 2024. Multiple members of the Schafer Lab attend the AACR Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA. Congrats to Jianping He and Mackenzie Kelleher on presenting their research!

  • March 2024. Jamie Schofield successfully defends his dissertation. He is the 10th Ph.D. to graduate from the Schafer Lab! Congrats Dr. Schofield!

  • March 2024. The Schafer Lab attends the Annual Amelia Project Conference at Indiana University-Kokomo, where Zach gives a talk on the lab’s research. This conference brings together breast cancer researchers from Indiana University-Bloomington, Indiana University School of Medicine, Purdue University, and Notre Dame.

  • March 2024. Congrats to Jamie Schofield on the publication of his paper on Acod1-mediated immune evasion in Cell Reports! Other Schafer Lab members who are co-authors include undergraduate student Emma Albano and former Ph.D. student Mark Hawk.   • April 2023. Lisa Hom successfully defends her dissertation. She is the 9th Ph.D. to graduate from the Schafer Lab. This summer she will be starting a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Athanasia Panopoulos at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Congrats Dr. Hom!

  • May 2022. Graduating senior Abigail Abikoye receives the Richard J. Wood Student Community Commitment Award from Community-Engaged Alliance. She is only the 13th student from Notre Dame to receive this prestigious recognition. Abigail is also the recipient of the Outstanding Biology Student Leader award. Congrats Abigail!

  • November 2021. Jordan Cockfield successfully defends her dissertation. She is the 8th Ph.D. student to graduate from the Schafer Lab. Jordan is off to start a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Charles Roberts at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Congrats Dr. Cockfield!

  • May 2021. Matyas Abel Tsegaye successfully defended his dissertation. He is the 7th Ph.D. to graduate from the Schafer Lab. Matyas will be moving to Chicago to start work as a Consultant with Boston Consulting Group. Congrats Dr. Tsegaye!

Great collaboration with Inma Martinez-Reyes and Nav Chandel from Northwestern as well as Juan Liu, Xiaojing Liu, and Jason Locasale from Duke.
